Gun Control-Social Progressive Mantra Crumbling

On both coasts, Washington D.C. and San Francisco, there is a long standing aversion to allowing citizens to own or possess handguns. Handguns are principally defensive firearms, as opposed to long guns, which are considered offensive firearms. When given a choice, no knowledgeable person would elect to take a handgun as a primary weapon to a gun fight. So, what is with this social progressive agenda to deprive citizens of a tool for personal defense?

Washington D.C. has had a ban on handguns since 1976. That law is now ruled unconstitutional.

I wrote on San Francisco passing a handgun ban early last year. Last July SF’s ban was ruled unconstitutional.

Judicial common sense prevailed on two coasts. That is undoubtedly giving the social progressives heartburn.
