Sciatic Pain

True sciatica is the result of impingement of the various nerves comprising the sciatic nerve as they exit the lower vertebra. Sciatica may also be caused by sciatic nerve entrapment as it passes through the buttocks. Most often this pain is caused by the piriformis muscle. Go here for a stretch that can assist with eliminating the pain in the buttocks and leg. If you fail to completely correct the condition, consult with a physician to determine if you have true sciatica. If that's not it, consult a massage therapist who specializes in the Piriformis Syndrome.
